I think you may be feeling a bit incomplete, and that this baby will really fill that gap. This baby is a blessing really, and although it is a difficult situation to handle and take care of, it'll bring someone new in your life to love, and to start over with again. I think thats worth the excitement, and you sound so dedicated to the job. You are going to be a great grandfather.

last i knew they didnt give emergency c-sections to people who's sides hurt. So what did they say this "pain" was. If anything even if it WAS contractions they'd stop the labor with medication, not give her a c-section especially since she's only 29 weeks...

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with your enthusiasm with the approach of your new grandbaby.  All dads just want to protect their "little girls", no matter how old we get, that's a dad's job.  I know, I went through almost the same thing with my first child.  I was 19, living at home, going to school, and got pregnant.  Abortion was NOT an option.  I had aunts trying to talk me into adoption...but my dad told them that he would not be able to live the rest of his life knowing he had a grandchild growing up with stangers.  My parents were my support system through my pregnancy, they were all that I had.  The father didn't want anything to do with the baby.  But, I am happy to say, that after 10 years...he and my son have a wonderful relationship...and I'm so glad that he changed his mind.  I guess all I really wanted to say is you are doing a great job...I can't wait to see if ya'll can find out if you're having a girl or a boy......I'll keep reading....

Am i right in thinking that you going semi-private will be to avoid negative comments. We all get them and to be honest its all part of having an online diary. Its just a case of boredom for most, again though going semi-private keeps your viewers to a friendly bunch.

If you go completely private, then no other diarists can read any of your entries..

But for semi-private, you can have members selected by yourself added in your favorites list. Once you have written an entry, your friends will know.

Firstly you should let others know that you intend to go semi-private, if they wish to be added to your list they should leave you a comment asking. Give them a few days to reply..

Ok now to go semi-private, look on the left hand side you will see a list of options...

Click on DIARY PREFERENCES, there you can set your diary as you wish..

Before you said that your daughter had gained 6 lbs at 19 weeks and then you changed it so that it said she had gained 8lbs at 19 weeks. IM POSITIVE thats what it said.

and like I said before, you said she had gained 7lbs at 14 weeks and then a few entries later (which you obviously changed) you said she gained 6lbs the whole pregnancy so far and she was 'upset' about it. I have been pregnant TWICE and it is RARE for a woman who is in her second trimester to lose a pound in 4 weeks.

well not being able to find out the sex is completely normal, when my mom was prego with me, they never knew what i was # because i was breech and #2 because i always kept my legs closed so tight.

my mom gained 11 lbs with me, they thought i wasnt gonna be over 2lbs. but ended up being bigger. thats another reason they didnt know.

but i wish you and your daughter the best of luck, im glad to hear that she is doing good, and that you are accepting the fact that she is prego.

As much as we don't like to admit this, once your children hit a certain age they will find a way to do what they are going to do. It wouldn't matter if you locked her in her room and threw away the key.

Her entire life changed the moment she saw the positive, and threatening her, yelling at her, kicking her out, etc... None of that would have changed that she is about to be a mother. Its tough for a young woman. She will be getting bad looks for the rest of her life. There will be stares, there will be comments. Even when she is older, whenever someone asks her how old her child is they will do the math in their head and there will be looks. She needs support wherever she can get it, because the places she can get it are going to be few and far between. You are a good father by continuing to be a father to her.

my mom never found out the sex for any of her 4 kids... she picked out neutral (sp?) cloths she picked out greens and blues and whites...u know that either could wear and after we were born she bought like 4 me the pinks and reds and yellows u know girly colors but i suppose ur plan works 2 if she plans to have another kid...

Don't worry. My boyfriends father went nuts when his daughter got pregneat when she was 17. Now he has a great grandson, and he's such a joy. Believe me, you do not sound like a bad father at all. You sound like you've been handeling it well. Kevin... my boyfriends dad... was about ready to kill the kid that got her pregneat.

you could have threaten her all you wanted, but it wouldn't have changed the fact that she is pregnant. At a time like this she needs all the support she can get to make it through. It may not be what you wanted for her, but I feel that everything happens for a reason. This baby will bring you so much joy.

I got pregnant when I was sixteen. My daughter is now 11 months old and when I found out I was pregnant, I got my GED. I am in college now.

EVERYTHING happens for a reason, You have been given the chance to have a beautiful baby come into all your lives, so take this oppertunity and love it with all your heart. Kids grow up and get lives of there own, Tho im not a parent, i know how it is, im going to be 18 next month and i will most likely go live with my boyfriend soon after that, leaving my grandmother here alone, i dont want to but then again i cant spend my whole life living with her, i have to get out and make my own choices and live my own life, i see how hard this is on my mom also, both her only 2 kids are growing up so fast, and she hates it.

its life and it happens, you just have to embrace it and learn to love it.
things will get hard, But your strong and you will make it threw this mess.
and in the end, it will all seem so well worth it.

What I meant was, have you told HER mother. I know its hard handling a moody teen..but you have to remember, you handled her mom during her pregnancy. I don't know how many other kids you have..she is hormonal. And teens tend to be more moody. Its part of their development.
